Volunteer Grant program opens
The Volunteer Grant program has opened, and I encourage your organisation to apply for a share of up to $20 million in funding.
The Volunteer Grant program is designed to help some 5,000 eligible community organisations that work to build stronger and safer communities, reduce social marginalisation and increase community participation.
Grants of between $1,000 and $5,000 are available to help community organisations buy equipment such as laptops, pay fuel costs, train volunteers and improve their fundraising.
As the Senator for Western Sydney, I have been fortunate to witness the important work undertaken by the many volunteer organisations which contribute to making our communities more cohesive, vibrant and welcoming.
The Morrison Government recognises that volunteers are the backbone of community life, and I am pleased that this program will provide assistance to individuals and groups to further enhance their charitable endeavours.
For more information or to apply for the Volunteer Grant, visit the Australian Government’s GrantConnect website at www.grants.gov.au.
Applications close Tuesday 18 September 2018.
