Parramatta Light Rail to ignite growth in Western Sydney

Tuesday, 08 December 2015

NSW Premier Mike Baird's announcement today of the preferred route for the Parrramatta Light Rail Project is great news for Western Sydney residents, commuters and business owners.

This project will kick-start revitalisation along a 22-kilometre corridor, connecting Parramatta to the key hubs of Sydney Olympic Park, Westmead Hospital, Western Sydney University and Strathfield.

The Light Rail network will help Parramatta further enhance its status as Sydney's second CBD and boost existing public transport services in Western Sydney.

The Parramatta Light Rail will also help governments and business to create the 200,000 new jobs recommended by the Deloitte Shaping Future Cities blueprint released today by Premier Baird at Rosehill Racecourse.

This visionary project complements the federal government's multi-billion-dollar infrastructure investment to support the new Western Sydney Airport and generate a new wave of economic growth.
