Getting seniors online with new grant funding

Friday, 31 August 2018

The Be Connected grant program has launched and I encourage your organisations to apply for their share of up to $20 million in funding.

The Morrison Government recognises the valuable contribution seniors make across our community and wants to ensure that seniors have the skills they need to maintain their independence, keep connected with their family and friends and stay at the forefront of the digital workplace.

As the Liberal Senator for Western Sydney, I am pleased that many organisations in our community have become part of the Be Connected Network, which includes more than 1,500 members, including libraries, community centres, clubs and aged care facilities across Australia.

Successful applicants to the Be Connected program can use the funding to help purchase equipment, cover transport costs and contribute to the cost of training courses for volunteers.

Applications close on 18 September 2018.  To find out more information about the Be Connected grant program or to join the network, go to https://beconnected.esafety.gov.au/ or call 1300 795 897.
