The Labor/Greens Government’s intransigence continues to erode confidence in the housing sector, with falling building approvals compounded by the carbon tax, its attack on housing sub-contractors and the lack of key data for international investors, said Senator Marise Payne, Shadow Minister for Housing.

The Labor/Greens carbon tax will hurt homeowners, renters, builders and manufacturers who are already struggling under Labor’s financial mismanagement and the worsening housing shortage.

Shadow Minister for Housing, Senator Marise Payne, has called on the Gillard Labor Government to expedite a key report detailing the size of the housing shortage in Australia as building approvals continue to lag behind demand.

The surge in mortgage delinquencies for the March quarter is more evidence home borrowers are struggling as a result of Labor’s debt-financed spending binge, said Shadow Minister for Housing, Senator Marise Payne.
